Due to the extremely thin nature of metal leaf, is important to be able to apply adhesive without leaving brush strokes on the surface. Quality synthetic brushes are recommended for applying all base coats, adhesives, sealers and glazes. In application it is important not to let the glue set up in the brush. When finished applying any adhesive the brush should be soaked in water during the initial steps of clean up.
