Winsor and Newton Water Color Medium

A pale colored binder that when mixed with water colors improves their flow and transparency. For serious watercolor painters, this medium is a must for their watercolor art supply collection.

Can be thinned with water.

It has similar characteristics to Gum Arabic but increases the wetting of the paper (this is how flow of washes is improved.)

Watercolor Medium is usually mixed into the watercolor wash but it can also be added to the jar of watercolor if the artist prefers to use it throughout the painting.

This watercolor medium is available in a 75ml. glass bottle.

Note:

• This medium should not be used directly from the bottle onto the painting surface as thick application will cause the surface to become brittle.
• The particular medium is not recommended for use with acid sensitive colors such as Ultramarine.
